Since 1987, the Colorado Center for Bone Research, P.C. has participated in national clinical research trials that we believe enhance the care of our patients. These pharmaceutical-sponsored trials help create the techniques for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various disorders. Through these trials, we’re able to confirm effectiveness, monitor side effects and collect information on the safety of drugs and treatments under study. During all trials, Dr. Paul Miller and Staff at Colorado Center for Bone Research carefully monitor your care and keep contact with you post-trial.

Qualified applicants in osteoporosis trials may receive study-related:

  • Bone density scans
  • X-rays
  • Medication
  • Physical exams
  • ECGs
  • MRIs
  • Labwork
  • Compensation for time and travel

Note that some clinical trials include assessing bone metabolism by bone biopsy. Dr. Miller is one of the world’s leaders on bone biopsies and can perform these with no or minimal discomfort.

After an examination and a thorough explanation of benefits and risks, you might be invited to participate in a clinical trial. If you choose not to participate, this will not affect your care or relationship with Colorado Center for Bone Research.
